About

Capoerista with a special interest for enforcing identity-development and individual growth through the support from the safe/supportive platform, and open and tolerant community, offered by the capoeira group. q

Started training with «Capoeira na Neve» (Led by Prof. Torcha, supported by Mestre Umoi) in 1999 in Trondheim, worked with developing the Trondheim branch of the group toghether with Prof. Cacheado, Prof. Boneca, Prof. Palma and some other capoeristas that are no longer with the group.

Followed the group in becoming part of GUC when Mestre Maclau moved to Norway.

Had a break from training for 9 months late 2002 to early 2003 when living in the outskirts of Norway where there was no Capoeira.

Moved to Bergen and in 2006 started a new branch of the group there together with Prof. Cacheado.

Since 2005 I have become more and more inspired to learn more about Capoeira Angola through meetings with «convidados» at GUC workshops, travels to Brazil, USA and various cities and workshops in Europe.

This way of moving and expressing feels most natural and intuitive for me, although i value and respect all sides of Capoeira with all its styles and influences and as such think that all perspectives are equally important and should be taught within GUC.

Why Grupo União na Capoeira:

Apart from finding Capoeira fun and social I particularly liked the philosophy of Mestre Umoi and his vision of a Capoeira that had no boundaries or limits, where we as members of Grupo União na Capoeira could respectfully communicate and play with all other Capoeristas and be able to recognize and understand the most impotent basics of both, music, movement and ways of interacting in the game, wherever we went in the world of capoeira and whoever we played with.
